Join us for this special monthly youth education program about agriculture, presented by the Peoria County Farm Bureau. Each month will focus on a different topic. The average American consumes 27 pounds of rice per year. Where does all that rice come from? What is the difference between brown and white rice? What types of rice do we eat? How does rice grow? So many great questions and we will tackle each one in our lesson on rice. Students will uncover the benefits of growing rice. Students will harvest their very own whole grain rice and identify each important part of the rice kernel. Geared toward grades 3-6.
