Chinese Language and Culture classes will engage students with the language and culture of China through experiencing three Chinese festivals with their food and traditions and through learning about the spoken and written languages of China.

In this class, we will focus on numbers and colors. Numbers and colors have great significance in Chinese culture beyond their obvious uses. Students will learn to count in Chinese and the names of some colors along with cultural meanings such as why eight is considered lucky and why men do not wear green hats.

About our instructor: Meng Meng has been teaching English for over 15 years. She has two Masters degree in language education and a Chinese teaching license from Indiana. She is passionate about teaching Chinese and English and sharing her home culture, authentic Chinese food, festivals, calligraphy and fun crafts.
