What’s Happening with Friends!

Come Help Choose Gifts for the Library!

Our non-profit organization gifts the library with items and funds for programing that aren’t covered by taxpayer dollars. Two times a year at our general meeting the Friends select items from the library’s wish list to gift the library. Our next meeting is April 9 at 6:00 pm. Come meet fellow library lovers, enjoy some refreshments, and help choose gifts for OUR library!

Our meeting will be at the library in the community room. A virtual option is available; contact us at friends@dunlaplibrary.org at least 24 hours in advance to register. 

More Friends Events 

2nd Annual Minigolf Fundraiser – We had so much fun playing our 18-hole minigolf course in the library during our 2nd Annual Minigolf Fundraiser. The event, our largest fundraiser of the year, was a tremendous success! 

We’re sending a big shout out to all the players, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event happen. The proceeds from the event will support the library with items and funds for programs that aren’t covered by our taxpayer dollars. Be sure to come to the next Friends meeting on April 9 and help select gifts for the library. 

Pumpkin Glass – Several Dunlap Public Library District community members participated in an Offsite Adventure at Pumpkin Glass in Peoria. We worked with fused glass to make hearts and had a wonderful time expressing our artistic talent! The Friends were delighted to subsidize the event.

Friends Bookstore

Visit our bookstore located next to the Circulation Desk and get a great deal on used adult and children’s books, CDs/DVDs, and audio books. Purchases can be made either by depositing money in the box on the top of the bookcase or by PayPal. Check out the great deals and come often as inventory will be updated as space becomes available.
